Parisi, c. 1955, for the Triennale Milano, manufactured by G. de Vivo, Milan, metal, brass lacquered perforated metal plate, red coated Pertinax, the chair with an upholstered laminated wood seat shell and fabric covering, sideboard: height 102 cm, length 204 cm, depth 39 cm, the table with a paper label G. DE VIVO/MILANO, height 72 cm, 160 x 79 cm, the chair with a metal plaque G. DE VIVO/MILANO/ C. VENEZIA (Ang. v. Salvini) Tel 793136, height 79.5 cm, width 40 cm, depth 52 cm, height of seat 37 cm. Unique pieces. Excellent original condition. The Milan-based furniture-maker G. de Vivo, whose advertisements appeared in Domus starting in 1948, specialized in tables and chairs featuring constructed iron bases. They were combined with the extremely costly material of Pertinax, a derivative of bakelite. The prototypes were developed for special exhibition projects in collaboration with renowned designers. There is ample documentation in the archives of the Triennale Milano, such as for the 9th Triennale in 1951, the brochure introducing the"Piccolo Bar Estivo" by Melichiore Bega (photograph No. 426), and the project "Casa Y Vacanze" by P. Angeli and Ico Parisi (photograph No. 330).
